A celebrity chef claims he was barred from entering an Alfalfa Club dinner after-party at Cafe Milano in Washington D.C. — and he’s blaming Ivanka Trump.
“Thank you @CafeMilanoDC Franco Nuschese! I was a guest of the #alfalfaclubdinner2018 ‘everyone’ welcome to the after party, but I’m the only individual not allow in? Is because @IvankaTrump told you so? You should be ashamed of yourself Franco,” Jose Andrés tweeted.
However, sources close to the situation reportedly say that Andrés is mistaken.

But former Mexican Ambassador to China Jorge Guajardohe backed up his story, saying the chief was asked to leave because “his presence made Ivanka Trump uncomfortable.”
“In a new low for Washington, yesterday @chefjoseandres was asked to leave the Alfalfa dinner after-party at @CafeMilanoDC by its owner, Franco Nuschesse, apparently because his presence made Ivanka Trump uncomfortable (Cafe Milano is the watering hole of the Trump Admin),” Guajardohe wrote.
Last year, Andrés canceled his planned restaurant in the president’s D.C. hotel over his objection to Trump’s candidacy.
