Conservative writer Lucian Wintrich was reportedly arrested during his speech at the University of Connecticut on Tuesday night after protesters repeatedly interrupted his remarks, with a fight eventually breaking out inside the venue.
Lucian Wintrich, 29, a White House correspondent for Gateway Pundit, was giving a speech called “It’s OK to Be White.”
Videos posted online show two audience members approaching the podium when one woman grabbed a piece of paper, prompting Wintrich to go after her in an attempt to retrieve it by grabbing her from behind.

Stephanie Reitz, a UConn spokeswoman, confirmed that Wintrich was held by campus police and charged.

“UConn police are also investigating an incident in which someone broke a window in the lecture hall as the crowd was leaving and threw a smoke bomb inside,” Reitz added. “This led to speculation as to whether police had discharged tear gas, but that was not accurate. No tear gas was used or needed.”
It’s not clear if any of the attendees were charged or if there were any injuries.
